NWS&F Board of Directors and Officers



President and Secretary, pro tem, Jan Sutermeister



Jan is a retired teacher from Northwestern Lehigh High School. She has spent her life promoting physical and mental fitness. In addition to teaching, she has supported the community through psychiatric hospital chaplaincy and prison work.


Jan worked as a lifeguard, instructor, and competed through high school and college.


She is the founder and champion of our mission, advocating " The importance of a community pool in providing a safe gathering place and employment opportunities."

Director, David Tafler



David is a Professor of Media, Communications, and Film Studies at Muhlenberg College in Allentown. His education includes SUNY at Binghamton, University of Wisconsin, and Columbia University.


As a consultant for the Irish Red Cross, David co-developed and authored a manual on communication (and technologies) for the support of beneficiary populations in disaster prone regions.


An experienced SCUBA diver and avid swimmer, he supports aquatic activity.



Treasurer, Kate Kline



Kate is a Financial Analyst Director with a background in Accounting, Finance & Banking. As a Bloomsburg University graduate, who competed in track, cross country and club rugby, she shares the team's commitment to health and betterment.


As a newer resident, she is hopeful to be a part of the positive impact that this fitness and wellness center can bring, as evidenced in surrounding communities. "Beyond the obvious positive health impacts, I'm envisioning a local gathering place for children and young adults that blends into and extends our farming community."


She is also serving on our Resource Development Advisory Council.



Director, Larry Wiersch



Larry's name is synonymous with leading Cetronia Ambulance as CEO for many years where he kept a focus on saving lives and making an impact. His commitments are to community, quality, excellence, growth/innovation, and family. Larry is now semi-retired from Cetronia, but keeps his fingers on the pulse of the Health Service industry.


His willingness to join the NWS&F board is another commitment to life-saving skills, "For young and old, learning to swim and learning safe practices in and around water are an investment for a better, safer life."

Tara Henninger



Consultant (Former board member)



Tara is an Arts Administrator / Creative Professional with a passion for advocacy, access, diversity and inclusion in arts and culture. She served on our board from 2019-2023.



Lorraine Jerdon



Development



Lorraine is the (retired) Business Manager of Jerdon Construction. A 2019 LVB Women of Influence awardee and 2023 Francee Fuller awardee. She is currently serving on our Resource Development Advisory Council.



Beth Alboucq



Consultant (Former board member)



Beth is an experienced program leader with a range in political, legal, and public sectors. She served as our Secretary from 2019-2023.

Tracey is a member of our Resource Development Advisory Council and serves as Secretary to our board.
